Instructions
Soak your dates in hot water 30 mins, then strain them through a sieve over a bowl or jug. Reserve this water for now. 90 ml / 6 tablespoons of this date water.
Discard the date stones and add the dates to your food processor, along with everything else. Whizz until you have a mostly smooth texture. If the mixture is too thick because you’ve used a thick peanut butter, add in some plain water, a little at a time, blending and repeating as needed, until you have a dip like consistency. Store at room temperature in jar or air tight container for up to 4 days (day of make +3).
Notes
If you are serving as a dip for guests, you can prep the apple slices in advance, just toss well in lemon juice. Store in air tight food container for up to 24hrs. Blot briefly with kitchen towel before serving.
Baby & Toddler
For babies under 12 months, use agave. Serve spread onto finger-size toast fingers or thin slices of apple. Toddlers can dip apple slices in.
