These two ingredient Frozen Grape Slushies are so refreshing and full of flavour - just what you need in the heat of the summer. All you need is a punnet of red or black grapes, which you’ll freeze in advance and 100% pure purple grape juice. My kids ask for this on the regular because they love it so much and unlike slushies you’ll buy when you are out and about, these have no nasties in sight!
They are super easy to make too, you’ll just need a powerful blender to hand. My recipe makes two large slushies, perfect for adults, or four small kids size slushies. Or you can split the slushie mix into one large and two small, which is what I usually do for my kids and I. You can of course make more, just use the toggle at the top of the recipe to scale up the ingredients.
If you have little kids and you prefer to not give them fruit juice, you can swap the grape juice for fridge cold water.
The Two Stars of my Frozen Grape Slushies
Grapes
All you need is a 500g punnet of seedless red or black grapes (17.64oz). Remove the grapes from their stalks and freeze in a food storage bag for a minimum of seven hours. Through the summer months, I just keep a stash of frozen grapes in the freezer so I’m ready to make these Frozen Grape Slushies when the need calls!
For a totally smooth slushie, you’ll want to peel the grapes before you freeze them - if you have kids, they can help you with that! Just make sure they wash their hands well first.
Grape Juice
The second ingredient is 100% pure purple grape juice. I always use Welch’s, but you can use any make. You’ll need just 400ml (1 ¾ cups).
